Festival Résumé: 14,500 Visitors

After six successful festival days (30.4. – 5.5.) with 144 feature, documentary and short films from 41 countries, the 21st Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz closed its doors on 5 May. 14,500 visitors were proof of the unwavering enthusiasm for European film and the social space that is cinema.

Award Winners 2024

On Saturday, the Festival Awards of the 21st festival edition were given out in the Ursulinensaal, Miriam Hie led through the atmospheric evening. Entries from the Competition Fiction, Competition Documentary, Competition Local Artists and YAAAS! Competition were awarded with cash and non-cash prizes worth € 29,500, and the MIOB New Vision Award 2024 (€ 3000) was also presented.

Award Winning Films - Screenings on 5 May

On May 5, three award-winning films of the Crossing Europe Film Festival 2024 will be shown: The special mention of the Crossing Europe Award - YAAAS! Youth Jury, RIVIÈRE from Hugues Hariche will be screened at Moviemento at 18:00. SLOW by Marija Kavtaradze, winning film of the MIOB New Vision Award, can be experienced again at 19:45 at City-Kino! Crossing Europe Social Awareness Award - Best Documentary winning film FANNI KERTJE / FAIRY GARDEN von Gergő Somogyvári can be seen at Moviemento at 21:00!

The Awards Ceremony at Ursulinensaal and via livestream starts today at 19:30. Films in the Competition Fiction, Competition Documentary, Competition Local Artists and YAAAS! Competition sections will be awarded monetary and non-cash prizes worth € 28,500, and the MIOB New Vision Award 2024 (€ 3,000) will also be presented.
